Durapost Fencing
Durapost fencing components offer a modern, secure and strong framework that will work with fencing panels or rail based fencing such as closeboard or picket types.
The posts are manufactured in the UK and are made from galvanised steel using a cold rolling process to fold the post into a slotted ‘H’ shape. This makes the Durapost very strong and able to handle winds up to 110mph. The manufacturer of the product offers a 25 year guarantee on the products.
The benefits of the Durapost system over traditional timber or concrete posts are many and whilst the cost of the system is initially higher its long life span means it is ultimately a more cost effective option.
Also you don’t have to use the whole system; it is simple enough to just specify the Durapost and perhaps the post cap to give you a long lasting solution. Durapost also overcomes the ‘rattling panel’ problem that many people experience with traditional slotted posts. Each post is pre-drilled on the back face and the panel or rails are screwed into position. So when the timber dries and shrinks after installation the panel remains held firm in the slot.
Durapost metal components are made from 50% recycled steel and are 100% recyclable at the end of its long life. It is made in the UK using low energy manufacturing process and is lighter to transport.
The DuraPost system is available in four finishes. Galvanised Steel, Sepia Brown, Olive Grey and Anthracite Grey.
DuraPost components include Composite Gravel boards, Post Caps, Panel Caps, cover strips, bolt down post plates, Gate Posts and ‘U’ channels to enable multiple fixing options. These items are all available in the four colour schemes offered. Please see the images below for detail.

Durapost Installations
In the images above and below you can see how Durapost components can fit into many projects.
The first image shows the modern Urban panels supplied by Durapost installed on a driveway. The client wanted a low maintenance fence with a modern look to smarten up the boundary against some tall conifers.
The second picture shows standard 6' high (green Tanalith treated) closeboard panels installed on Olive green posts, composite gravel boards, cover strips and post caps. Installed in 2022 this fence replaced an overgrown hedge previously removed by others. The client wanted a level fence and by now will have back filled with new soil.
On the third picture the client needed a low fence to meet boundary height requirements. On this project we used anthracite classic posts (and post caps) composite gravel boards and 90cm high panels which the client also painted anthracite. You can see the Gate post works as a corner post with the matching U Channel fitted.
On the fourth image the client had traditional closeboard panels installed on Sepia Brown posts using a brown composite gravelboard and again the Durapost gate post, holding the gate and forming the corner for the side run that is out of view. And yes the gate is not level across the bottom but cut to suit the rise in the path, all part of the service!
The fifth image shows how we have used the Durapost gate posts for a pergola. In fact my colleague and I carried out the entire landscaping package which included turfing and paving.
Image six shows 6' closeboard panels however this time utilising standard 6" concrete (recessed type) gravelboards. This fence is adjacent to a well used public footpath and it was felt that concrete offered a more robust option than the composite gravelboards for a something that would likely be overgrown most of the time anyway!
Durapost can offer many different solutions for your garden from simply offering a rot proof post for a standard panel install to a complete feature fence using composite gravel boards, panels and trellis.
Standard Closeboard on Durapost components.
The benefits of using Durapost over traditional timber and concrete posts are many. The steel components are extremely durable, require little or no maintenance and are ultimately recyclable. Durapost is manufactured from 'cold rolled' steel and the unique patented 'H' design makes it very strong and versatile to work with.
Below is a closeboard fence install from 2021 utilising standard classic 'H' posts in Brown. Here we fitted timber cant rails, timber gravelboards and clad with feather edge boards to complete the installation. The client has a traditional closeboard fence but using steel posts which avoids timber rot, the main cause of fence failure. Another Durapost benefit is that the post size keeps the fence nice and narrow. Built up on timber or concrete the fence would likely end up over 120mm wide. On Durapost it is approximately 70mm wide.
